iPad Air

The iPad Air is a tablet computer designed, developed, and marketed by Apple Inc. It was announced on October 22, 2013, and was released on November 1, 2013. The physical design of the iPad Air 4 is consistent with the iPad Pro line rather than traditional iPad design, making it a bridge between the two class of devices. It has the same physical dimensions and near bezel-less screen like the iPad Pros but uses Touch ID for biometric authentication and retains the 60Hz screen refresh rate of the traditional iPad. The differences between the iPad Air 4 and both the Traditional and Pro lines is the addition of blue and green case colors and Apple's A14 ARM processor.

I've decided to replace the three year old iPad Pro 10.5 with a 64GB green iPad Air 4. mostly because Apple provides enough trade-in on the Pro 10.5 to pay half of the price of Air 4. Based on my experience using the iPad Mini 5 I do not expect the lack of Promotion to be a significant factor for me, and I expect the faster processor and included USB-C port to be a net benefit. Unfortunately, moving to the iPad Air 4 requires me to also by the second generation Apple Pencil, leaving me with two first generation Apple Pencils to use with the iPad Mini 5.
