Migrating From Hue Bridge V1 to V2

My Philips Hue Lights are controlled by version 1 of the Hue bridge and I plan to migrate to version 2 of the bridge.

The V2 version of the bridge has been available for about a year, but up to this point I have not had a compelling reason to upgrade. Now I do.

I found instructions here . That article says the moving SmartThings is going to be the worst part, as I feared. I will need to remove everything Hue related to the SmartThings app and re-create.

To do

* ~~Remove Hue lights from Google Home~~ * ~~Remove Hue lights from Alexa~~ * ~~Remove Hue lights from Harmony Hub~~ * ~~Remove Hue lights from IFTTT~~ * ~~Remove Hue lights from SmartThings~~ * ~~Migrate lights from bridge v1 to bridge v2~~ * ~~Restore lights to Google Home, Alexa, IFTTT, and SmartThings~~

Notes

* Google Home connected to the lights via SmartThings * Need to remove the lights from all instance of apps. For example I have SmartThings on my phone and iPad. Removing from the phone does not remove from iPad! * Migration complete! The app instructed me to factory reset the v1 bridge, which I did. I think that when I did the reset it removed the bridge from my account. The app recognized this as a new bridge, which I did not add and disconnected from the network. * The Android version of the Hue app was acting wonky, so I uninstalled and reinstalled, and it went through the discovery process for the new bridge. * First think I did was confirm I can turn the lights on and off, whiich I did. * Next, I went in to the new Power setting and found that I could only configure for the two color lights. All the white lights needed to be updated. The updates are downloading now. The app says it might take an hour. * Alexa discovered all lights * Google Home now has direct integration with Hue and Harmony, so I don't need to integrate it with SmartThings * I've removed all the Hue-related IFTTT applets because I don't need them. Either Google Assistant or Alexa can access the lights, so I don't need to use IFTTT * I finished updating the lights and tested that the power-off/resumption state works as expected. **It does!** * As a bonus, I configured my TP-Link smart switch to turn the Christmas Tree on/off
